Hi Tonya,
I definitely try to visit off the beaten path environs....which is why I chose Vysherad. Of course, you want to be exposed to things that the city is well known for, but I never miss an opportunity to commune with the citizens in their own communities away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist traps. Thanks again for your thoughtful comments and please start to travel with your daughter...it will be a great way to create memories that will last both of you a lifetime.

Hi Tonya!
When I travel, I always try to research where the natives like to hang out. Of course, if I've gone through the trouble of traveling all the way to say, Paris, I want to see the Eiffel. However, I want to experience the entire spectrum of what a city has to offer....so I try to uncover as many off the beaten paths as I can. I think that Vysherad was one such path....it's where ordinary citizens lived and very few tourists ventured....which is sad, because it was one of the most beautiful things about Prague. I hope that you and your daughter start traveling to all of your favorite spots....there's no better way to create lifelong memories for the two of you. Thanks for visiting and please come back soon!

Hi there again,
Do you find that you are mostly in the touristy places when you travel? I guess it is really hard to go off the beaten path when you only have a few days, and are sick on top of that. Prague is some place that I would love to see as well. I had a friend years ago that spent an entire summer there in the late 90's and that was when it was really cheap and she loved it. She is American, but she spoke Russian from studying it in school.

I love to see mother and daughter sharing these experiences. I have a daughter myself who also has the travel bug.

Happy Traveling

Tonya Keitt Kalule
www.tonyakeittkalule.com

Monica,
You will love it....Prague looks like any other city until you get to the city center. You will be blown away by the ancient architecture and just an overall sense of history that the entire city represents. I'd be interested to see what the mobile safe looks like....never heard of it! But I love learning about new gadgets. ;-D

I am so doing Prague sometime in the very near future! Great post full of great information.

I'm planning on doing a video of a mobile safe I bought for my trip earlier this year. It's something you might be interested in checking out whenever I get it up. I'll let you know.
