Todd Wassel, a travel blogging friend of mine who runs the Todd’s Wanderings blog has issued a challenge to his fellow bloggers. The 1000 – 1000 Challenge is a call to arms for bloggers to increase their readership to 1000 unique visits per day and their blogging income to at least $1000.00 per month. Initially, I will admit this was mostly a hobby since I adore traveling. However, my focus has changed. I see this blog as a viable service for people who are seeking new ways to stretch their travel dollars.
I am taking the challenge because I want to push myself a little further when it comes to creating excellent content, attracting readers and hopefully at some point, truly monetizing my blog. It has been difficult due to the fact that I have a full-time job that I truly like which limits the amount of time that I have to create interesting content or network to the extent that I would like to. Even though my blog will be mostly a part-time endeavor, it doesn’t lessen my commitment to it.
If you are a new reader and like what you see or if you are one of my faithful readers, please encourage your friends to visit this site, not just to get my numbers up temporarily, that’s not what I want. I am looking for dedicated readers who will subscribe to my RSS feed, follow me on twitter and like my Facebook page. Yes, Todd has lit a fire under a lot of us. A View To A Thrill is determined more than ever to earn your loyalty by giving you useful and pertinent information that will assist you as a global traveler. If we succeed than we will have a great list of successful travel bloggers and will be able to prove that Travel Blogging can be successful (and how to do it). We will also have a nice homegrown Network of quality travel bloggers that we can use to leverage our success even further.

Congrats on making the commitment Rene. I too have a full time job. Right now I’m traveling, and the challenge is finding the time to keep on top of the blog when traveling, plus a good Internet connection. I’ll be joining the challenge very soon myself.
